Tilberthwaite Car Park to Slater's Bridge and Cathedral Cave

This is not turn by turn. We suggest you should download the Gpx, ideally to use with OS map App Early, or later for an afternoon stroll Walk along the road to High Tilberthwaite Take the left path in the farmyard. Continue as shown turning right at the end of the glorious upland track. after passing past the cottages there is a gate in the wall on the left. This leads to Slater’s bridge. Retrace steps to the main track and continue east. Shortly after another track gate you will see a track to your right to a gate (locked) with a stile along side. Go up the hill to the cave entrance. There is enough light to go through, although phone torch might be reassuring. Explore cave (photos) and retrace your steps to the main track and continue At the ford and bridge turn right to return to the car. (Left over the bridge to get to the Three Shires. Excellent pub, good loos.)
